DIY Playboard / Toybox Top

It is a simple board, but the boy loves it. I mean c'mon, give them a box and there are activities for days! I'll give you a quick rundown on the build, but you make the final as to how complex or simple you want to go. Materials Needed: 3/4 inch high grade plyboard (Cabinet grade) 1/4 inch panel board Router Jigsaw Drill bit (I used 1 inch hole saw bit) 1. Cut board to size to fit the top of the toy box. Then round the edges with your jigsaw. 2. For ease of flipping and holding, I drilled and jigsawed hand openings at each end. First I drilled two holes about 6 inches apart using my hole bit. Then using the jigsaw, I cut the remainder of the hole for the handle. 3. Using a straight bit for my router, I first cut the deeper part of the lake. Take your time and make sure you go against the rotation of your router. Then shorten your bit and finish the rest of your lake. 4. I then cut a few a few shapes to make hills. Radio Flyer Wagon Wheel Upgrade

This project began with me stating "I'll be damned if I pay $25 per wheel for an upgrade from Radio Flyer!". And down the rabbit hole I went! Materials Needed/Used: Beer Mallet 10 inch pneumatic tires WD-40 More Beer 5/8 (Outer Diameter) 7/16 (Inner Diameter) Vinyl tubing 7/16 Push Nuts Needle Nose Pliers Razor blade 1/2 inch PVC The short of it: Remove old tires, use the vinyl tubing as a spacer to fit the 10 tires onto a 7/16 axle. The Breakdown: Removing the old tires is easy. You can break the push nuts off or save them by twisting them as if you are unscrewing them. Saving them could save you the time of locating new ones and it one less thing to track down. Old & new Push Nut ~1/2 inch space where old spacer attached Spacer & Tire removed from back Once they are off you can start dealing with the mispaired axle size and tire bore. The Trip

My winter camping trip was spawned from my buddy, David, who was interested in camping out with the famous "Merriweather" Vordorbruggen. Who wouldn't want to camp with a guy that cooks June bugs for snacks and adds a salad foraged from your yard. I upped the ante by inviting the Youtube "Mr. Rogers" of camping, Kenneth Kramm. Dreams do come true. The knowledge between these two could fill books of knowledge, and when the zombies show up, these guys are on speed dial. Unfortunately, due to schedules and life, Ken could not make the trip, but what he doesn't know is that I plan on catching him soon on a trip. So I guess, Merriweather will have to do.
